Welcome to TRIO Student Support Services
TRIO SSS is a federally funded Department of Education TRIO program that supports first-generation, low income students and students with disabilities who are seeking their first bachelor's degree. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants.
TRIO SSS provides professional support in the following areas:
- Tutoring in reading, writing, study skills, mathematics, and some sciences
- Advice and assistance in post-secondary course selection
- Assistance with information on both the full range of student financial aid programs and the benefits and resources for locating public and private scholarships
- Assistance in completing financial aid applications
- Education and counseling designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of program participants
- Assistance in applying for admission to graduate and professional programs
- Counseling for personal, career, and academic information
- Activities and instruction designed to acquaint students with career options
The TRIO department at Sonoma State University consists of two separate SSS programs, Multilingual Achievers and United for Success.
TRIO SSS and has served students at SSU for over 30 years.

If you need support to help navigate the announced changes, TRIO advisors are available to help during drop-ins from January 22-January 30st.
From Monday, 1/27, to Wednesday, 1/29, both TRIO programs, Multilingual Achievers and United for Success, will be offering drop-in support, from 9 am - 4 pm.
On Thursday, January 30, drop-ins will only be available from 9am - 11am.
If you need advising or other support, please check-in at the CAASE front desk and let our student staff know which program you are in and who you would like to meet with.
